The Standards

The permanent wardrobe.

A small number of excellent garments, kept in stock and refined rather than replaced. Seasonal, Statement and Experimental pieces come and go. The Standards stay.

Underneath

MARK TWO is for people who refuse to believe that where they are is where they have to stay.

Life observed. Someone mid conversation, the II just visible.img/life-01.jpg

Most brands with a message lead with the message. MARK TWO leads with the clothes. The idea is there if you go looking for it, and it does not need you to.

The enemy is resignation: the quiet decision that circumstances, mistakes or the past get to become permanent. MARK TWO is not a mental health brand, though that is part of where it began. It is not a slogan or a coach, and it does not promise outcomes. It keeps a door open.

From the founder
James Harris, founder of MARK TWOimg/founder.jpg

I didn't get here in a straight line. I left school early and took the long way round: running bars, a one man maintenance business, three and a half years as a field engineer on the copper network. Somewhere in that I started a clothing brand around one idea, that trying counts. Then I lost the right to its name.

This is the second version. It is better for what the first one taught me, which is what a mark two is supposed to be.

MARK TWO is not about me. It is for anyone who has caught themselves accepting a version of life they never chose, and decided not to. I'm still becoming. So is this.
